"As a kid growing up our parents took us to the Ichetucknee River every summer and it is still one of my best memories . Our entire family (aunts, uncles, cousins..) would meet up there at the State Park and would pitch tents and hang out for the weekend. Best Tubing in Florida! for the adults its lazy and relaxing and for the kids its fun and adventurous! (back then it only cost .50c a person!) " Rose from GentlemansVintage

"I have got to say I love St. Augustine. A beautiful city with so much to see and do and do go online for special coupons and discounts for tourists. Jacksonville has some fabulous thrift ships and Tampa has the Dali Museum and some great things to see and do. Everyone knows Orlando. Miami is a world unto itself. I lived in Panama City Beach and Panama City for awhile and Vero Beach both are okay. I guess when you have lived some place and seen all there is to see there it is not on your stay vacation list anymore! If you do go to Panama City you must go to Southport nearby and to the Econfiina Canoe and Kayak livery and take that trip also the Chipola River has a short and a nine mile one down the river and people take inner tubes and they shouldn't but they float along coolers with beer in them. I use to canoe it and I had paddled fast past them as they - especially college students can be a raucous bunch. They never take the Long trip - But most of the trip especially if you take the long one is absolutely gorgeous and filled with rare wildlife and some caves you can walk into after climbing up to them over some boulders (secure your canoe :) you can walk all the way to the back and it has a room with a stone like bed in it and many other alcoves where American Indians must have lived as well as bears. Pitch dark so bring your flash light. Wish I could still do this stuff but am thankful for the memories. Blessings to all for good health prosperity and happiness!" I've been scrapbooking since college and love to preserve memories. As cards became more expensive and I had TONS of scrap papers and embellishments I decided to make cute, affordable, handmade cards, tags, enclosure cards, etc.

Favorite piece you have made- and why?

My favorite piece I have made are my Thomas the Train (and friends) thank you and notecards. When my boys were younger they lived and breathed all thing Thomas. It has a special place in my heart. I've even done custom orders with the theme

What inspires you?

Favorite part about living in Florida?

I love everything about Florida! I was born and raised here and love the beaches, parks, attractions and history.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?

If I could change places with anyone it would be the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. She does a lot of things I love, cooking, writing, photography and spending time with her family. Plus she has a famous blog and cooking show - how fun would that be?!

Florida Weather - Tips

If you live in Florida then you know how CRAZY and unpredictable our weather can be… I went on our group and asked for some tips to share with some of the new, inexperienced, or just curious on how to deal…

Dianne Jobson from OopsIKnittedAgain says

"Always bring lots of water. You can use the water bottles to weigh down sidings for your tent if they're the kind with pockets at the bottom. In regards to dealing with rain, I always keep my bins I use to transport product under my table so if it starts to get really gnarly, I can put things away momentarily. Again, sidewalls for the tent are a good idea. If you want them open, just attach them at the top in the morning, then roll them up like a curtain (velcro loops are great for this). If it starts to rain, drop them down and it will help keep your stuff dry."

Cindy from DevineDesignsJewelry says

"Best bet is to have a tent with side walls in case it rains. I would also suggest weights in all four corners of your tent and possibly one in the middle, especially if there will be high winds. You can use a large bucket filled with sand, as I have for the middle of the tent. Having your tables up on risers or off the ground helps with rain run off. And I'd always keep a towel with you- to dry off anything that may get wet."

"One of the biggest things you can do for yourself is to set up your entire booth in your back yard for a day. If it’s a breezy/rainy day, that is even better. You’ll get a real feel for how your booth needs to be laid out as well as any difficulties you might encounter with your displays."

"I work outside - I keep a pair of those plastic 'crock' style shoes in the trunk. when it starts to look like the rain is about to come down a quick switcheroo because the last thing I would want to worry about is getting my shoes/socks/feet all wet n gunky if I have to worry about taking care of business! I also keep a rain jacket in the same bag for those cooler days when I don't want to be so wet!"

"For Rain: Sidewalls, sidewalls, sidewalls. At shows I always have enough tarps and bungees to throw over the display if tent fails. Pool noodles shaped into U shapes and tucked into the canopy framework can keep water from pooling on the tent top and collapsing the tents. Brings a pole or broom to push water off the canopy if it does pool.

For Wind: But never use bungees on your tent anchors cause if they snap they can injure someone. Ratcheting tie downs are great, having an extra couple is better so if the wind whips up you can tie down to an immovable object like a tree or sign post.

For Heat: A battery operated fan is fabulous, also a great way to keep bugs away. A wet washcloth kept in a ziplock in your cooler is a nice fresh way to cool down. Wet wipes are also a nice way to keep fresh.

For Sun: sunscreen, a big floppy hat, and more sunscreen.

For Cold: A portable indoor/outdoor propane heater kept out of customer pathways. Dress in layers so you can layer off and layer up as the day get warmer and then cooler."
